THE FERRY m/s SOLÖ (1963)

The m/s Solö was a car and passenger ferry known that operated the Oskarshamn-Byxelkrok route during 1963. The vessel was capable of carrying both buses and lorries.

1881

Delivered as the steamship s/s S:t Erik.

1905

A new steam boiler was installed.

Converted from steam to diesel power.

Sold to Byxelkrok and renamed m/s Solö.

1963

Ran aground outside Oskarshamn but was repaired and returned to service.

1964

Sold to AB Skärgårdsutflykter and renamed S:t Erik, where she continued operating as a sightseeing vessel.

2025

The vessel was repaired following a grounding and returned to service.
