THE FERRY m/s NORDÖ (1968)

The ferry m/s Nordö operated the Oskarshamn-Byxelkrok route during the 1968 summer season. The vessel could carry 18 cars and 600 passengers. On 20 June 1968, m/s Nordö ran aground outside Byxelkrok Harbour while approaching from Oskarshamn, but she managed to free herself under her own power. After the 1968 summer season, the vessel was laid up in Oskarshamn, where a temporary pub and disco were later established on board.
